SW Florida Founder Priority
Companies founded by SW Florida residents will receive top priority for investment. We prioritize founders who understand the unique opportunities and challenges in the region, as their businesses are most likely to align with and support the fund’s mission to benefit the SW Florida community.
Eligibility Criteria:
Business must have been founded by, or currently be led by, an SW Florida resident.
If the business has non-local roots, it should have a founding or co-founding partner from SW Florida who is actively involved in the company’s operations.
Regional Benefit or Impact
The fund is dedicated to companies that create a direct, positive impact on SW Florida. We are interested in businesses whose products, services, or operational footprint bring measurable benefits to the region, such as environmental improvements, job creation, or enhanced community services.
Eligibility Criteria:
Product or service directly benefits SW Florida (e.g., clean water technology, coastal conservation, or public health solutions).
Company operations should lead to significant job creation or skills development for SW Florida residents.
Demonstrated Market Adoption or Use Case in SW Florida
Companies outside SW Florida are eligible if they can demonstrate active product adoption, service utilization, or meaningful employment impact within the region. This ensures that non-local businesses still contribute to and integrate with the local economy.
Eligibility Criteria:
Proven customer base or market traction within SW Florida, with metrics (e.g., sales, partnerships, or usage statistics) to illustrate adoption.
The company’s operations result in a minimum of 5-10 jobs within SW Florida or create economic value for the local community.
Customer Acquisition Excellence
Eligible companies must demonstrate a strong understanding of customer acquisition, either through proven experience in a previous venture or through a current, well-defined strategy with measurable traction. Applicants are required to complete the Customer Acquisition Strategy Module available on the Cap Table Nation website. Only those scoring highest in customer acquisition readiness and strategy will be considered.
Eligibility Criteria:
Successful completion of the Customer Acquisition Strategy Module with a high score, showcasing a solid approach to acquiring and retaining customers.
Evidence of prior experience or quantifiable traction in customer acquisition, such as growth metrics, marketing ROI, or established partnerships, either from a past venture or the current business.
